Child Care (FCC) offers full day, hourly, and before and after
school services. FCC trains, certifies and monitors family
members who provide child care in government quarters. FCC
homes provide the same care programs as the Child Development
Centers (CDCs) plus have some additional benefits. Homelike
atmospheres, opportunities for siblings to be in care together,
and more flexible hours than the CDCs are hall marks of FCC
benefits. Some providers offer evening, night, and extended
care options for parents with non traditional work schedules.

VISION STATEMENT
The FCC Program will offer a safe
Environment in a home setting for a small ratio of children.
Providers will nurture and help develop each child as if
They were their own. Children and parents will feel welcome
And comfortable.
Children will be provided with experiences that meet and
Challenge their developmental levels. Children will be loved,
Accepted and appreciated for their individuality and cultural
Diversity.
The FCC Program will support providers in providing quality
Childcare experiences through training, monitoring, resources, and
Supplies. Providers will appreciate their accomplishments as they
Recognize the impact they have on the children and their parents.
The FCC Program will be recognized as a high quality program
Which meets all the needs of the parents and children. FCC
Will no longer be considered the last resort, but the First Choice for
care.
FCC
and Prince William County Partnership - FCC
is currently coordinating a partnership to create a Homes Off
Post Program. The program will enable Prince William County
certified home child providers located off post to enter into
agreement with Fort Belvoir FCC to monitor and refer Fort Belvoir
patrons to their homes. In return the home providers agree
to comply with FCC training and safety requirements as well
as designate slots for eligible family members referred by
Fort Belvoir. A terrific option for families with small children
to avoid the commute to Fort Belvoir from Prince William County.
FCC
Supports Operation Nobel Eagle -
In response to the additional duty hours soldiers and civilian
are working, FCC has developed classes to assist FCC providers
in meeting the requirements to offer extended hour care. In
addition, the program is expanding to offer the opportunity
for center based child care staff living in government quarters
to attend classes in order to offer child care on weekends
as possible CYS satellite homes. For information on the class
dates call the FCC office.
